On Sunday November 8, 2009 at 1315hrs Hawthorne FD was requested by Thornwood FD for a ladder to 1022 Broadway, for a smoke condition in the building. Units operating: Thornwood FD, Hawthorne L56, Pleasantville FD, MPPD, Batt. 11

Upon arrival of the Thornwood units, crews found a smoke condition within the structure. Hawthorne along with Pleasantville was dispatched for mutual aid. L56 responded and was to standby the hydrant. Crews from Thornwood were able to locate the cause of the smoke. The smoke originated from another store which had burnt some bagels.

All units were cleared shortly after.
