Tuesday, October 27, 2009 12:10 - On Tuesday October 27, 2009 around 1210 hrs Hawthorne FD started a busy couple of hours with MVA's in our district. Weather conditions were warm with rain, windy and a lot of leaves that had fallen.
First call was around 1210 hrs Location Saw Mill Pkwy Southbound on the ramp to the Taconic State Pkwy So. Units operating Hawthorne E155, 63B1, Thornwood 2471, R75, 37Medic1 West. Co. PD. Units on scene reporting no injuries and all units placed back in service.
Second call was around 1519 hrs Sprian Brook Pkwy SB IFO NYS Polce Barricks. Units operating 2196(IC), E155. 63B2, 37Medic2, NYS Police. Units had a two car mva with rear ended the other reported as minor accident with 1 minor back injury. 63B2 transported 1 to WMC BLS.
As crews were picking up from this accident a thrid call came in for the Saw Mill Pkwy Northbound to the Taconic State Pkwy Northbound entrance ramp. Units operating 2196, E155, Thornwood FD R75 37Medic2. While enroute the call 2196 requested that a mutal aid ambulance be dispatched for this call. Sleepy Hollow Ambulance was dispatched for this call. Upon arrival 2196 found a 1 car mva into the guardrail 1 patient with minor injuries. Patient was transported by SHVAC to WMC. R75 was used to close down the ramp because of the location was on a blind curve. Once tow truck had removed the car all units were placed back in service.
